Applications and Interviews
Here you can view finalist application materials. From March 25 until April 13, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. Eastern Time, you will be able to pre-schedule interviews for Finalist Interview Week (April 20-24, 2026). Before pre-scheduling starts on March 25, we strongly encourage you to use the flag feature to save applications that you are interested in interviewing. Except as noted below, interviews should take place between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. ET, and all interviews must be conducted virtually.
IMPORTANT NOTE: AAAS will hold a virtual orientation for the finalists on Monday, April 20. No interviews may be scheduled before 2:00 p.m. ET that day due to this programming.
• After the pre-scheduling period ends on April 13 at 12:00 p.m. ET, offices will not be permitted to schedule or revise interviews until 2:00 p.m. on April 20 (after STPF Finalist Interview Week Orientation has concluded).
• Offices should NOT contact finalists directly before April 20 at 2:00 p.m. as they have not received their schedules and important fellowship information before that date. Please do not send Zoom/Teams or any other calendar invites directly to finalists before April 20 at 2:00 p.m.
• Following the conclusion of STPF Finalist Interview Week Orientation on April 20 at 2:00 p.m. ET, offices may reach out via email or phone to schedule interviews with finalists. Please do not use the portal to schedule interviews during Interview Week.
• Executive Branch finalists may also reach out to offices after 2:00 p.m. ET on April 20 to request additional interviews. Pathways to Policy Fellowships (PPF) finalists will not be able to reach out directly to offices, but can share their interest in a PPF position with the PPF Program Manager.
Finalists’ application materials are confidential. Documents are not to be distributed beyond host office supervisors and individuals conducting interviews.
Filtering Applications:
There are several ways for you to search for specific finalists.
- Save Applications – Click on the flag icon next to an applicant's name to save their application. You can filter to saved applications to help with scheduling and ranking applicants.
- Discipline – Use the drop-down menu to select degree disciplines. Click “Select Multiple” to open up the option to filter by more than one. This filter looks at all degrees entered by the applicant.
- Policy Interest – Click “Expand” to view policy interests and select those that you want to include in your filter. You can select “Must Match All” or “Can match one or more.” If you are using the option “Must Match All” do not select more than three policy interests, as the applicants are limited to three selections.
- Skill – Click “Expand” to view skills and check the boxes next to the ones you want to include in your filter. You can select “Must Match All” or “Can match one or more”. If you are using the option “Must Match All” do not select more than six skills, as the applicants are limited to six selections.
- Keyword – Use the search bar to do a keyword search of the Professional Bio, Applicant Statement, and Extracurricular Activities portions of their application materials. Note: This is not a keyword search of the entire application. To search the degree field you should use the Discipline filter.
Helpful Tips
- You can use logical operators in the keyword search, such as: AND, OR and NOT
- You can filter by multiple disciplines. This is an “Or” search where you will see all applications that match one of your selections.
- Remember to click “Update Result” whenever changing your filter settings.
- Remember to click “Reset” to return to the unfiltered list.
- If applications are not appearing when you log in, try refreshing your browser or clicking "Reset" and the application links should appear.
