Program Timeline
Below is a general outline for the STPF Executive Branch Placement Process. Dates are subject to change:
Late January - Early March:
- Registration opens for host office liaison accounts
- Begin drafting and submitting position descriptions
Mid-late March:
- March 12, 2026: Deadline to register for host office liaison accounts.
- March 17, 2026: Deadline to submit position descriptions.
- March 20, 2026: Finalist application materials are available to review.
- March 25, 2026: Host offices may begin pre-scheduling interviews with finalists for Finalist Interview Week.
April:
- April 13, 2026: Pre-scheduling closes at 12:00 p.m. Eastern Time.
- April 20-24, 2026: Finalist Interview Week takes place. Finalists interview with agencies virtually.
- April 29, 2026: Ranked list of finalists are due for each position.
- Early-mid May: STPF staff will make placement offers to finalists. Offices will be notified when a finalist accepts a placement offer.
Late-May - June:
- Formal Notification Letters are sent to finalists.
- Agency and/or employer onboarding begins.
September:
- September 1, 2025: Fellowship launches with a two-week orientation managed by STPF.
- Mid-September: Fellows report to host office to begin one-year fellowship.
